๐ŸŒธ Empowering Women, Transforming Lives

For over 14 years, Bwera Charity has passionately stood with women, working tirelessly to uplift them from poverty and empower them through social enterprise projects and livelihood programs. These efforts have made a lasting difference in families, homes, and communities across rural western Uganda.

๐ŸŒฟ The Food Tower Project

One of our most impactful initiatives is the Food Tower Project, locally known as kitchen gardens. This program equips single mothers with small, affordable vegetable gardens that fit into limited spaces around their homes. With these gardens, women grow essential vegetables like onions, tomatoes, spinach, and other greens โ€” improving their families’ nutrition while saving money previously spent on market produce. The project has notably enhanced the health of children and created a source of pride and independence for mothers.

๐Ÿ The Share a Goat Project

In Kyanduli village, the Bwera Charity Womenโ€™s Group is actively participating in the innovative Share a Goat Project. Hereโ€™s how it works:

  • A vulnerable family receives a mother goat and cares for it.

  • When the goat produces a kid, the family keeps the kid for themselves.

  • The mother goat is then passed on to another family in need.

  • This cycle continues until every woman in the program owns a goat.

The project has proven to be a sustainable and meaningful way to improve household incomes and help single mothers provide for their childrenโ€™s basic needs, including food, clothing, and school fees.
