Background
Bwera Charity Project Uganda is a registered Christian Community Based Organization (CBO) No. MC/CBS/77 with a Youth Rehabilitation Hub which is a home dedicated to transforming lives of young people from streets, engaging them against drug abuse and crime through music, dance and practical life skills programs.
The organization was founded 2011 in Bwera – Kasese district, western Uganda by Apostle Pedson Kasume and his wife Ann Mabel, with an aim to provide quality education to orphans and Vulnerable children (OVCs), empower youths for talent and skills development to eradicate poverty among single mothers through provision of microloans for financial self-sufficiency.
In 2022 as the couple relocated to serve at United Christian Centre Church in Mbarara city, Bwera Charity Youth Rehabilitation Hub was birthed as an annex of their charitable work, particularly to rescue street youth and empower them through music and dance, but also to provide rehabilitation services to the local community whose youth struggled with drug abuse and crime.
